Michael W Cobleigh

May 28, 1969 — April 19, 2023

Earl Park

Michael “Mike” W. Cobleigh, 53, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital after struggling with ALS since December of 2022, and lost his battle April 19, 2023 surrounded by several of his family members and special friends when it was time to go home. He was born May 28, 1969 in the little town of Brook, Indiana and grew up in Goodland, Indiana. He graduated from South Newton High School and finally made his way back to Earl Park, Indiana before passing. Mike drove a semi most recently for local farmers and he loved it. He also loved seeing new places, riding his motorcycle, camping, plowing snow and just being outside in general. He mostly lived the farm life and got a lot of his thrills by being outside tinkering around with his lawn mowers and other “toys” and treasures he’d found. Mike enjoyed staying up late and having random conversations about nothing or telling stories of things he used to do “back in his day”.  When he was stuck inside, he loved the action movies, and researching. “You can’t find a cure if you don’t help look for one”! He was very passionate about his morning coffee and he ate steak or salmon whenever he had the chance and most always, he had his Mac and cheese too! With no doubt, he loved his family and made sure to tell them as often as he could. He was proud of his children, and his nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by brother, Glenn Cobleigh and survived by parents, Michael and Judith Cobleigh of Earl Park, children, Joseph “Joe” Cobleigh, Amy and Michael Garrison, siblings, Brenda (Ken) Spiker and Jim Cobleigh, several nieces, nephews, nephew in laws, great nieces and great nephews that he loved as if they were his own as well as a host of extended family and friends. He visited or called everyone frequently, just to check in and make sure they were okay, behaving and to make sure he knew any and all drama so he could stay in the loop! He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. One very special and dear friend is Keltie Alexander, who held his hand until the end. Keltie also survives with the rest of his family. As we remember Mike and celebrate his life, we are reminded of the many ways he touched the hearts and lives of those around him. Before ALS he was a goofy, fun-loving guy who was always up for an adventure, with his laugh and sense of humor. We will always remember the courage he had during his battle with ALS. He will never be forgotten!
