Francis “Pap” Weller, 85 of Fowler, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his beloved home surrounded by his family.

Born September 10, 1937, in Goodland, IN, the son of Joseph and Helen (Graham) Weller. After graduating from Earl Park High School, he joined the US Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.  When he completed honorably serving his country, he married Louise (Whitus) and they then moved to Hammond to start a family and a career that would last him 45 years as a professional driver.  He retired at 67 after a proud and successful run. During retirement, he enjoyed visiting family in Florida, fishing, working in his yard, walking around town but most of all, sitting on the front porch with his family.

He is predeceased by his parents, sisters, Nancy Weller and Mary Jo McGowan and brother, Harold Weller. He leaves behind, loving wife of 62 years, Louise (Whitus) Weller, sons, Ed (Sally) Weller and Doug Whitus, daughters, Jodi (Ryan) Oberlander, Andrea (Jim) Parker and Glenna (Dave) Brown, brother, Ron (Julie) Weller, sister, Theresa (Pat) McMillin, grandsons, Brett Weller, Edwin and Tyler Brown, great-grandchildren, Mia and Max Johnson as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Dad “Pap” will forever stay in our hearts…”good fishing, Dad”.  In keeping with his wishes, there will be a private burial and gathering with the family at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, with Fr. Peter Vanderkolk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Shriners or Sacred Heart Catholic School.
