Willie Thatcher

Willie Thatcher, 68, of Boswell, IN went to be with the Lord Saturday morning November 18, 2023. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. WIllie was born September 4, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Joe Benito Thatcher and Crecencia (Muñoz) Thatcher. Willie was a 1974 graduate of PSJA High School in San Juan, Texas. Willie's life was a testament to love, laughter, and enduring connections.

Willie's life took a beautiful turn in 1986 when he met the love of his life, Paulina Ornelas, in San Juan, Texas. Their love story continued to flourish, culminating in a joyous union on March 27, 2000 in Fowler, IN.

A devoted family man, Willie found his greatest joy in the presence of his grandchildren and the simple pleasures of grilling. He had an innate ability to connect with people, initiating conversations wherever he went. A true friend to all and a beloved jokester, Willie's magnetic personality left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and a unique sense of humor, Willie will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, may we carry forward the legacy of love and laughter that Willie so effortlessly shared with the world.

He is survived by: wife, Paulina Thatcher, sister, Bonnie (Thomas) Guzman, daughters, Priscilla Thatcher, Daniela (Oscar) Alvarez, Yvonne (Rodrigo) Malpica, Dora (Alain) Cortes, Cassandra (Colby) Waibel, Brandy (Milton) Maquin, 12 grandchildren: Gabby Thatcher, Christian Thatcher, Destiny Alvarez, Mia Alvarez, Oscar Alvarez, Alexa Malpica, Genesis Malpica, Sara Malpica, Rodrigo Malpica, Christopher Ruiz, Alain Cortes, and Seraphina Waibel. He is preceded in death by: parents, Joe B.and Crecencia M. Thatcher and brother, Oscar Thatcher

Memorial Service will be from 5:00-5:15 pm with visitation to follow from 5:15-7:00 pm EST on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Home ~ Fowler Chapel; 506 E Main St Fowler, IN 47944
