Rose-Marie Reed Born April 15 1922 at Michael Reese Hosp. Chicago, died peaceably on August 7 2025 in Columbia City, IN at Millers Marry Manor Hospice.

She married Glen Ivan Reed on Sept. 28, 1940. She had Bachelor of T and Master of T degrees and Graduate Clarksville School of Theology and excelled in Computer Programming, courses at Purdue University. She excelled in the DOT, FAA’s Cameron College, Lawton Oklahoma’s multiple courses. She was a Computer Programmer in the Executive Building at Purdue University in the late 1960’s Rose started playing the violin at age six and made her debut at age 12 at Chicago’s Lion & Healy’s Music Hall. She wrote music having one of her music pieces resented while she worked at Shure Bros (Microphones for Victory) in Chicago. She also played with the Oak Park, Illinois Jr. Symphony Orchestra. They moved to Indiana after Glen returned from World War II to run the Reed Garage & Service Station. She heled build their new house in Oxford, Indiana. While there, Rose-Marie was active in local Clubs and also was a member of the Festival Singers that performed operettas and beloved songs and hymns at functions such as the Indiana State Fair. Her husband Glen and her were active in the Benton County Community including The Benton County Historical Society; they spent the summer repairing and refurbishing the Ella Grant Lawson House. Rose-Marie was a past president and District Historian (VFW) in the auxiliary while Glen was Commander of the local VFW post 1348 in Fowler. She was involved in the first Loyalty Day Parade where the Blue Angels airplanes that Rose-Marie had asked to fly over the parade, when she worked at DOT FAA Air Traffic Control Tower. Rose Retired after 21-1/2 commended years of service with the FAA. After Moms retirement she lived 19 years in Apache Junction AZ when health became issue she eventually moved near her son Michael in Columbia City, IN Rose-Marie spent her time writing memoirs and stories and enjoyed being near her family.

Survivors include her son, Michael Reed (Deborah) of Columbia City, granddaughters, Amber Reed (fiancé Mat Hal), of Watseka IL, Robin Reed of Columbia City, IN and great-grandsons, Cameron Reed, Watseka, IL, Blake Fowler, Watskia and Sladen Fowler of Ector, Texas. And Keagan Hall of Watseka, great-great grandchildren, Lincoln Reed, Raelyn Reed, Aurora Fowler and niece, Mary Anne Workman (Dale), nephew, David Ade, and great-nieces, Michelle Workman, Julie Wilson (Mike) Jodi Rohler, Lesa Smith (Pat), Kayla Kemp (Andrew), Riley Turcotte (Jeremy) and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Rose Marie was proceeded in death by parents Maximillion and Magnalena Nimpfer, son, James A. Reed, and nephews, Roger Ade and Alan Reed, brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Mildred Ade, Raymond and Maria Reed, Paul and Mary Reed.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 11 AM (EST) until the hour of Funeral Mass at 1 PM then burial in Boswell Cemetery, Boswell, IN with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. The family wishes to thank Caroline Davidson (Mitch) for her close friendship and support for Rose-Marie as well as the excellent care of Millers Merry Manor, Columbia City, IN
