Ronald George Salla

November 18, 1963 — July 2, 2022

Earl Park

Ronald George Salla, 58, of Earl Park, passed in his sleep unexpectedly, Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was a proud Benton, County farmer and engineer. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Hoover) Salla, since September 17,1988. Ron is also survived by daughter, Emily (Kevin) Weakman, of Rochester, IN, son, Jake (Taylor Brady) Salla, sisters, Nancy Salla Davis of West Lafayette, and Mary (Tom) Schmotzer of Troy, MI. Ron had three grandchildren that he truly adored: Kaylee, Kent, and Katelyn. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

Ron was born November 18, 1963 to Marvin and Donna (Lovell) Salla. His early years were spent on the family farm where he found his passion for work and grounded him for the important things in life. He later went on to Purdue University and graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Mechanization.  Then, naturally, returned to the family farm. He went on to be the Plant Engineer at Indiana Precision Plastics, now known as General Pattern, Williamsport, IN for over 15 years.

Ron was always known to help others and loved to solve problems of any sort or any size. He was always available to help those in his life regardless of the circumstance. He always found a way. He never met a stranger. He held many titles over the years but “Pappy Ron” was his proudest, by his beloved grandchildren.  He loved his children and grandchildren very much. Ron had a love of music and played several instruments, though he shined with the trombone. He was at his happiest in the barn working on his equipment with the radio on and the sun shining across the fields. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the entire community. “Earl Park just got a whole lot smaller.”

A visitation will be held in his honor from 5-7pm Thursday, July 7, 2022.  The family will have a private committal.  Arrangements entrusted to Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Fowler Chapel, 506 E. Main St., Fowler, IN  47944 (765) 884-0110 www.kellerfh.com
