Ronald Wayne Carter Jr.

Ronald Wayne Carter, Jr., of Fowler, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Ron was born on April 20, 1979, in Lafayette. He grew up in Fowler, where he spent most of his life. Ron was the son of Leslie (Puetz) Donaldson and the late Ronald Wayne Carter, Sr. He was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Sam Donaldson.

Ronald was a talented basketball player in his youth. He had a deep love for 90s grunge music and classic rock, and he enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons with his very close cousin Jason Peercy and friends Chris and Ryan Schneidt. He also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hiking and camping in Kentucky.

Above all else, Ronald cherished his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his son Austin (Kae) Carter and his beloved grandchildren, Renleigh and Caspian Carter. They were the light of his life and truly his favorite people. He also treasured the time he spent with his mother and stepfather.

He is survived by his son, Austin (Kae) Carter; his grandchildren, Renleigh and Caspian Carter; his mother and stepfather, Leslie and Sam Donaldson; his half-siblings, Nate, Summer, and Holly Carter; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Carter Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Norma Puetz; paternal grandparents, Jim and Barbara Carter; and his step-grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Donaldson.

Ron will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to those he cared about, and the good times he spent with the people closest to him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Close family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Gerts, Windler & Keller in Fowler on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM (ET). Casual attire welcomed — Ron loved to be comfortable. Burial at Fowler Cemetery following.
