Odis “Odie” L. Garrett

Odis “Odie” L. Garrett, 79, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away June 24, 2022 in Lafayette, Indiana.

Odie was born May 7, 1943 in Kentland, Indiana to the late Charles Arthur Garrett and Etha Mae (Warren) Garrett Ponto.

Odie was a police office in Fowler and Wakarusa, Indiana for 20 years. He was married to Mary Margaret (Bedore) Garrett for 60 years and together had two children, Timothy L. Garrett of Logansport, Indiana and Karen R. Garrett of Denver, Colorado. Odie is also survived by four grandsons, Nick Baldwin, Codie Garrett, Jordan Garrett, and Jerrad Garrett; four great-grandsons, Maverick Garrett, Silas Garrett, Franklin Baldwin, and Lucas Garrett; two sisters, Helen Hardebeck and Laura Balensiefer.

Odie was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Arthur and Marilyn Garrett; his mother and stepfather, Etha and Leo Ponto; his brother, Danny R. Garrett, and sister, Judy K. Briscoe.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Fowler Chapel.
