Marilyn Strasburger Brouillette

Marilyn Strasburger Brouillette, 87, formerly of Fowler, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her residence in West Lafayette, Indiana on March 17, 2024.

Marilyn was born in Lafayette, Indiana June 21, 1936, the first child of the late Francis and Ruth (Morrissey) Strasburger.  She was a 1953 graduate of Fowler High School and attended Marian (College) University in Indianapolis, earning her associates degree in History and was later awarded an honorary Doctorate in Philanthropy, before retiring to West Lafayette in 2023, she had lived in Benton County her entire life. She married Donald G. Brouillette August 11, 1956 in Fowler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, son Frederick George II (Ric), and her sisters Kathy Berry, Judy Myers, Tish Ringle, Joann McMahon, and her brother, John Strasburger.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Fromme, (husband, Guy) of Louisville, Colorado; JoAnn Brouillette, of Lafayette; Michael Brouillette (wife, Susan) of Lafayette; Tim  Brouillette, of San Diego, California; and Susan Brouillette (husband, Jon Bosler) of Hudson, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild, expected in April; her sister, Jayne Donahue of Danville, Illinois; brother-in-law, Kenny Ringle of Rensselaer, Indiana;  and sister-in-law, Janet Metzinger of West Lafayette.

She enjoyed playing all manner of card and board games and could frequently be found working in her yard and flower beds. She traveled extensively with her husband, family, and friends and enjoyed a good conversation over a nice bottle of wine.

Family and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fowler, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm (EST) Friday, March 22, 2024 and from 9:00 to 10:00 am (EST), Saturday, March 23, 2024 which immediately precedes the Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Dunnington, Indiana.

Marilyn gave generously of her time, talents, and treasure to support her community. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Marilyn Brouillette Scholarship Fund at Marian University, or the Benton County Catholic School Educational Trust.
