Margaret C. (Thomas) Rathfon

Margaret C. Rathfon, 80, passed away peacefully in Goodland, Indiana on August 31, 2022. Margaret was born in Miami, FL to parents Cecelia & Ernest Thomas on April 16, 1942. Margaret worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company from 1962 to 1971, then from 1976 to 1999 she worked for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. Margaret and her family moved to Gainesville, FL in 1999. There she worked at the University of Florida Department of Materials Science and Engineering from 1999-2013. Her husband, Greg Rathfon, passed away in 2010. For the next 5 years Margaret worked for Senior Helping Seniors in Oak Ridge. In 2018 she moved one last time, to Goodland, IN to be with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn and Beverly, sons, Clinton Rathfon and Griffith Rathfon, grandchildren, Wyatt, Owen, Kami and Sophie. She'll be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Suicide Awareness Foundation.
