Larry Schlotman

Larry Schlotman, 78, passed away March 22, 2026, in Venice, Florida.

Born September 18, 1947, to Eleanor and Sterling Schlotman, Larry graduated from Fowler High School in 1966 and later from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.

He was the longtime owner and operator of Hineas Camera Shop and Lafayette Divers Supply. Larry’s greatest passions were photography and scuba diving. As a certified PADI dive instructor, he trained hundreds of divers and traveled the world sharing his love of the underwater world, often organizing trips with his wife, Jane.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane (Heinen) Schlotman; children, Anne of Westfield, David (Laura) of New Whiteland, and Beth of Noblesville; grandchildren, Julian, Violet, and Jaylon; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Doranna (Schlotman) Sarault. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren; brother, Charles; sister, Amy; and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer. Memorial Contributions may be made to an environmental organization of your choice in Larry’s name.
