In Loving Memory Joyce Whaley March 8, 1933-July 20, 2026

Joyce passed peacefully from this life the morning of July 20th in Attica, IN after a decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life.

Joyce was born in Brook, IN to Arthur and May Reading. After graduating from Brook High School she married Philip Whaley and began her life on the farm. Joyce was a homemaker and raised two daughters and a son.

Joyce was a very active member of the Mt. Zion Church. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi philanthropic Sorority. She was a member of the community Band. She enjoyed making ceramics and taking painting classes. She loved traveling and wintering in Florida.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Philip Whaley. Joyce is survived by her 3 children Myrna (Charlie) Dienhart, Christa (Tim) Bickel, James (the late Hallie) Whaley. 8 Grandchildren Heather (Bobby) Ciric, Adam (Rachel) Dienhart, Tyler (Laura) Bickel, Jay Linton, Mitchell Linton, Ali (Rost) Gates, Hanna Whaley, and Jake Whaley. 4 Great Grandchildren Davey Ciric, Max Ciric, Lucy Bickel and Trey Bickel.

Memorial gifts in Joyce's name may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist church, Kentland, IN.

Visitation Tuesday, July 28th from 5-7 pm CST at Gerts Funeral Home in Brook.
