John William Hatt, 86, of Fowler, (formerly from Waynetown, IN) was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, January 31, 2024

John was born April 27, 1937and grew up in Waynetown, IN. He enlisted in 1957 with the United States Army at the age of 20. After his basic training, he received his orders to served duty in Korea. He was honorably discharged after two years and returned home.

John was known for his humor, compassion, and caring to his family and many friends. Additionally, he was also known for his kindness and generosity, consistently prioritizing the needs of others above his own. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife Judy and their dog Snickers, and bringing along with them his loving sister Linda and her dog, Jake. He loved family gatherings with his numerous nieces and nephews playing their favorite card games “yuker“. He has traveled to California many times with his devoted and close friends, one especially, Mr. John Benner and had visited his son Jerry who was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Fallon, Nevada in 1999. Of course, bringing his sister Linda along with him. His job as a truck driver delivering motorhomes gave him the opportunity to travel to many places throughout different States.

His was a fiercely devoted defender with a warm and compassionate soul, and a caring person and dedicated person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.

He was formerly married to Carolyn Sue Hatt from Waynetown, IN.

He will be welcomed into God’s loving Kingdom and greeted at the Gates of Heaven by parents, Joseph and Melvie Hatt, brother, Charles Lee Hatt and the many friends who have gone before him.

His love and memories will be cherished forever in the hearts of his wife, Judy Chroniack-Hatt, sister, Linda Hatt Butler, children & spouses/*grandchildren **great-grand ***great great grand: Jerry and Stella Hatt (*Terence **Brenden, Dakota, Kaylee, *Dana & Alana (**Isaiah, Tasi ) and *Christopher & Vici LeDonne (**Ronin & Kaden); Joyce Hatt (*Tonya Kamradt **Kayla ** Jayden Campbell ***Elliott Campbell)

“MAY THE PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM”

Visitation will be held at from 10am (EST) to 11am (EST) with funeral service to follow all at Hope Wesleyan Church (Corner of Third & Grant) with a luncheon after at Fowler Annex.  There will be a private committal service.
