Edward E. Schroeder, 76, a lifelong resident of Fowler, Indiana, passed away on July 21, 2025.
Born April 12, 1949 the son of the late Edward and Elinor (Falwell) Schroeder. Ed remained deeply rooted in the community that shaped him. A proud graduate of Fowler High School, he began his working life at CJ Mueller Bottling Plant before building a long and respected career at Eli Lilly, where he dedicated over 30 years of service.
Ed believed in serving others beyond his professional life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Sons of the American Legion and gave his time generously to the Benton County School Board and the Fowler Cemetery Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane (June) Schroeder, sister, Ella Kay and son, William Schroeder.
He is survived by his spouse, Jeanne (Armold) Schroeder of Fowler; sons, Michael (Jackie) Schroeder and Robert (Michael Blagg) Schroeder both of Brookston, brothers, Andrew (Dianne) Schroeder of Boswell and Kevin (Katrina) Schroeder of Fowler and two grandchildren who brought him great joy, Nicholas and Jacob Schroeder. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
Ed will be remembered for his love of playing cards, his joy in taking his grandchildren to McDonald’s, and his time spent deer hunting. Above all, he was a man who dedicated his life to those he loved—always present, always dependable.
His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped and the values he instilled. He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for their discretion as they raise funds for a new poker table in his honor at the Brookston Brewery where he enjoyed his Friday nights or to the Fountain Park in Remington, IN.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 11am until the funeral hour at 1pm (EST) with Rick Gerts officiating. Interment will follow at Fowler Cemetery.
