Dallie Mae Hood-Pizer

Dallie Mae (Caudill) Hood-Pizer, 81, former resident of Raub, IN passed away peacefully July 21, 2025, at the home of her son and daughter in-law Steve and Lori Hood of Boswell, IN. who survive.

Born to Kelly and Hazel (Collins) Caudill on November 24,1943 in Magoffin Co. Ky. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Hood on May 7,1967 in Cook Co. Il. who preceded her in death January 22,1992. Also preceding her in death a daughter Cynthia "Cindy" (Hood) Schroeder, sons Randy Hood and Robert "Bob” Hood and her second husband, Glen Pizer.

.Dallie's passions included making quilts by hand. She could most often be found in her recliner with a quilt in her lap that she was working on. Other passions include vegetable gardening, canning the vegetables she grew and making wreaths for her loved ones graves every year. She hosted many Thanksgiving and Christmas Day Family Dinners at her home throughout the years making lasting memories with her loved ones. Dallie was an independent woman, cutting her own firewood and installing new windows in her home herself without asking for help or letting her sons know what she was up to before doing it. She stayed active up until her illness.

She went back to school as an adult and graduated from South Newton HS and then went on to further her Education at Ivy Tech for which she was proud.

Before retiring Dallie had been employed at the former NuJoy Restaurant in Kentland, IN., Coils in Sheldon, IL. and Intec in Morocco, IN.

Other survivors include two estranged children, Timothy "Tim" Hood of Kentland, IN. and Angela "Angie" (Tim) (Hood) Goodwin of Lafayette, IN. several Grandchildren, Greatgrandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

She will be missed, and her memory will be cherished and honored by all who were a part of her life. Her family is comforted knowing that she is now at peace no longer suffering and with her loved ones that passed before her.

Dallie was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Brook, IN next to her husband Jim Hood and near her daughter Cindy.
