Cynthia Rae (Murdock) Wooten

October 10, 1939 — October 11, 2022

Earl Park, Indiana

Cynthia Rae (Murdock) Wooten, 83, of Earl Park, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Watseka, Illinois.

Cynthia was born October 10, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois to Loyal L. Murdock & Virginia R. (Harrold) Murdock. She married her husband, the late Vernon Wooten, in May of 1962.

Cynthia loved bingo, puzzles, yard sales, pets, DONUTS, and was a master at Pac-Man. She and Vernon enjoyed going to flea markets when they both were not working. Christmas was her favorite and she always tried hard to make it special. She always helped others when she could. She worked at many places over the years, her last job being at Adkev in Goodland, IN where she was one of the first employees hired in 1986 and stayed until her retirement. She loved working for Gary and Cathy and really missed the people and the work.

Cynthia left behind a hell of a lot of stuff that no one knows what to do with! She always said what she thought, even if you didn’t ask or wanted to know. She was a very strong woman who worked very hard for her family. She always had a smile for people no matter how she was feeling.

Cynthia is survived by 7 children, Crystal Ann Bennett of Arizona, David Lee (Julie) Wooten of Earl Park, IN, Vernon Eugene Wooten of Fowler, IN, Suzanne Denise (Mike) Tatum of Rensselaer, IN, Billie Leon Wooten of Oklahoma, Julie Anne (Eric) Gravesen of Goodland, IN, and Lester Wayne Wooten of Earl Park, IN; 11 grandchildren, Amanda Lynn (Shane) Williams, Anthony and Thomas Wooten, Amber Kay (Steve) Spielbauer, Shane and Candace Tatum, Sabrina Stone, Clinton and Derrick Gravesen, and Steve and Joe Conley; many, many great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Vernon Murdock of Iowa; her nieces, Lisa (Nathan) Holt, Vickie (Randy) Hanson, and Julie Murdock.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wooten, who passed away in November of 2011; her grandson, Ryan Gravesen, who passed in February of 1989; her parents, Loyal and Virginia Murdock; her brother, Jerry Murdock, who passed in February of 1987.
