Barbara Renee Gonczy

Barbara “Sissy” Renee Gonczy, 53 of Goodland, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. Sissy was a loved and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Barbara was born April 9, 1970 to the late, Laura (Roger, Sr.) Laffoon of Raub, IN and father Robert “Bob” (Barb) Gonczy of Morocco. Barb graduated from North Newton Jr./Sr.High School (1989).

Sissy is survived by her father, siblings, Bob (Diane) Gonczy, Donald Gonczy, Roger Laffoon, Jr., Ronald (Tammy) Gonczy, Robyn Kormendy, nieces and nephews, Lisa (Cody) Anderson, Joey Laffoon, Gabe, Garrett, Dylan G, Savannah G. Jacob, Riley, Hunter, Camara and great-niece, Presley A. Sissy also married her high school sweet heart 15 years, Leon Batchelor on June 3, 1989, while they divorced, they continued to be life-long friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother and fiancé’ of 11 years, Gary Kemp.
