Barbara Buschman

Barbara Buschman, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 30, 1953, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Meddie and Inez Lanoue. She is now reunited with her parents, her brother David, sisters Julie, Sandy, and Teresa, and her son Randy in eternal rest.

Barbara's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience. A proud graduate of Lowell High School, she went on to dedicate 17 years of her career working at Donaldson in Rensselaer, where she made her mark as a forklift driver in a manufacturing facility. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of strength and a source of unwavering support.

Her family was the center of her universe, and she was the heart and soul of every family gathering. Barbara’s home was always open, and she was happiest when surrounded by her children, Rich (LuAnn), Jody (Jim), and Rob (Shannon), along with her 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her love for them was fierce and unconditional, and she shared countless treasured moments with them, from spirited game nights to afternoons filled with crafts and big family vacations.

Barbara was known for her sharp wit and delightful sarcasm, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met. Her giving nature and strong spirit were evident in the way she lived her life, always prioritizing the needs of others. She was the friend and confidante who could lift your spirits and inspire you to face any challenge.

Her family invites all who knew and loved Barbara to join them in a celebration of her life on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The service will be held at Gerts Windler and Keller Funeral Home, located at 506 E Main Street, Fowler, Indiana.
