Larry Dean Windler

Larry Dean Windler, 77, of Fowler, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home with his loved ones. Larry was born Oct 28, 1945 to, the late, Wilbur and Clara (Budreau) Windler in Lafayette, Indiana. Larry graduated from Fowler High School in 1963 and attended Allied School of Mechanical Trades Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois for HVAC technicians. He enlisted in the Army Reserves as a Private and was a sharp shooter for the Military. He was honorably discharged in July 1967 and was a member of the American Legion Post 57. He was employed with the Indiana Department of Transportation where he worked as the Highway Supervisor for over 30 years. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding with friends and family. Larry spent his later years making birdhouses and baking with his granddaughter Breanne and her mother, Jami. He married the love of his life Dianne Justice on August 15, 1987 in Fowler, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dianne (Justice) Windler; sons, Steven (Danielle) Butler of Lafayette, Indiana and Andrew (Beth) Butler of Williamsburg, Michigan, daughters: Angela and Tina from a previous marriage and 1 adopted daughter; 8 grandchildren: Kylee (D’Angelo), Alexis, Brayden, Zane, Breanne, Elijah, Topher, and Gunnar; 2 great-grandchildren: Milliana and Calum; sister, Shirley (Jim) Christy of North Carolina; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and brother, David.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 9-10:30 with a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Earl Park, IN. A luncheon will be immediately after at the church fellowship hall.
